The Satellite Secretary has been supplying clients with Sony Digital Recorders from
the first day of business. We have found them to be inexpensive but very reliable
and easy to use. The recordings are automatically loaded onto your computer when
the recorder is plugged into a USB port.

There are two minor issues with the Sony recorder:
- Users who have a high volume of dictation will have a correspondingly high
battery consumption. This disadvantage can easily be overcome by using
rechargeable batteries.
- For firms with more than one lawyer and secretary, the recordings may be more
difficult to work with due to the limitations of the Sony software. Effective
communication within the firm can make it is possible to use; otherwise the
purchase of an integrated dictation system may be required.
