The Satellite Secretary
Marion started working for the legal community right
after graduating (with Honours) from high school at
age 17.  She soon realized she had made a wise and
rewarding choice.  Her first job was as a legal
secretary in a small town, where she gained
hands-on experience in civil litigation.  She then
moved to London, Ontario, where she worked in
residential real estate, handling the files from start to
finish. She was later given the opportunity to work for
a senior litigation lawyer.

Marion felt privileged to be chosen to work for Peter B. Hockin, presently a judge of the Superior
Court of Justice.  While working for Mr. Hockin, Marion learned all there was to know about
motor vehicle and personal injury litigation.  She then decided to see if her abilities were good
enough for the big city of Toronto.  Marion began employment with a large firm that specialized
in insurance litigation.  To increase her legal knowledge further, Marion also worked on a
freelance basis for a large employment and labour firm, and a family law firm.

Finally, to round out her experience, Marion delved into the realm of corporate and securities
law, working in some of the most prestigious firms in Toronto.  She ultimately became a
Corporate Law Clerk for an international law firm, where she was responsible for, among other
things, on-line filings and corporate database maintenance for the firm.

After moving from Toronto with her husband, Clyde, Marion continued her career as a Law Clerk
in a small specialty firm.  Marion clerked in real estate, corporate and estate files.

For over 30 years’ as a legal secretary, and later as a law clerk, Marion found working in law
both challenging and extremely rewarding.  Deadlines and expectations must be met and there
is always something new to keep your interest.  Whether it be working for a sole practitioner or a
large international firm, the basics are the same.  Clients can take advantage of Marion's many
years of experience.  By specializing as a
legal  virtual assistant, clients can be confident that
she understands and speaks the same language.

As is always necessary in the legal field, Marion continues to hone her skills, while at the same
time keeping abreast of current technology and procedures.

Marion and her husband, Clyde, recently celebrated their twenty-second wedding anniversary.
Clyde assists Marion by helping with the accounting, and he also looks after their computers,
I.T., and other technology issues.

Clyde also designed and continues to maintain this website.
